Try to include more light intensity exercise during the day when doing everyday tasks

Light intensity physical activity

Light intensity physical activities are activities that do not cause your heart rate to rise much or at all, do not speed up your breathing and allow you to talk normally. You do these activities daily more often than you think. Examples of these include:

  • Making music or doing crafts standing up 
  • Phoning while standing 
  • Household activities such as washing up or cooking 
  • Yoga


Including some light-intensity exercise every day contributes positively to your health and prevents too much sitting! 


    Try doing small (household) tasks standing up, such as folding laundry, cutting vegetables or talking on the phone. 


    Start the morning with 10 minutes of yoga exercises. Wake up feeling relaxed!
